The Dusk tint isn't a coating sprayed on top that scratches off over time. The color is pigment set into the lens itself, so the filter never wears away. It absorbs ~99% of the blue and green light from 400 to 570nm — the light that keeps your brain in daytime — and lets only the warm end through. Your room reads as darkness to your body. You can still see everything in it.

No. The deep amber is pigment embedded in the lens and tuned to filter ~99% of the blue and green light between 400 and 570nm — verified by a third-party lab. Sunglasses just darken everything evenly; Dusk removes the specific wavelengths that keep your brain in daytime.

Yes. Dusk creates “virtual darkness” for your brain, not your eyes — it filters the light that fakes daytime, but you can still read, watch TV, cook, and move around your home normally.

After sunset, or roughly two hours before bed. The earlier you put them on in the evening, the more you protect your wind-down — but even 30–60 minutes before sleep helps.

A melatonin pill adds a hormone from the outside. Dusk works the other way — it removes the light that's blocking your own melatonin, so your body can release it on its natural schedule. No supplement, nothing added to your system.

Night mode dims one screen and mostly shifts blue. Dusk filters blue and green from every screen and every bulb in the room — and green light, which night mode leaves alone, is a big part of what holds melatonin back.
